Marina set to help Chelsea to complete this ‘one major’ last signing who’s agent is in London
Former Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia could still play a crucial role in transfer for Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly, according to reports.
Gravonskaia left her post as a director at Stamford Bridge after Todd Boehly acquired control of Chelsea.
She would, however, continue to be available to the ownership until the conclusion of the summer transfer season, according to a statement that was made at the time of her departure.
This implies that if Chelsea decides to pursue Senegalese defender Koulibaly, who is said to be leaving Napoli this summer, she might still be a huge asset.
There are voids in the defense after Antonio Rudiger left the Blues for Real Madrid on a free transfer, while Andreas Christensen’s departure to Barcelona is nearly finalized.
Levi Colwill, a defender who was previously on loan from Huddersfield Town, wants to compete for a spot in London, but Fabrizio Romano has stated that Chelsea will buy two center backs this summer.
Matthijs de Ligt of Juventus is in the lead and is now Chelsea’s top priority at the back.
As for who else the Blues pursue, Koulibaly finds himself alongside long-term targets Jules Kounde and Nathan Ake.
Calciomercato claims that Granovskaia has “good contacts” with Napoli and Koulibaly’s agent Fali Ramadani, which may make it easier for Chelsea to negotiate a significant deal for the center-back.
Ramadani is believed to be in London right now to meet with Koulibaly’s possible suitors.
Juventus is reportedly interested in the defender as well, so Chelsea is not alone in its chase.
Napoli, on the other hand, would much rather the player travel abroad than sell to a rival.
Although Koulibaly might not be the Blues’ top pick, they are reportedly interested in signing him.
With only a year left on his current agreement, Napoli may try to sign him to a new contract or release him this summer.
Ramadani and Granovskaia already had “established ties,” and the former director also has a “personal relationship” with Aurelio de Laurentiis, the president of Napoli.
This summer, there is room for bargaining.
The transaction may end up being the last thing Granovskaia does for Chelsea before she goes permanently at the close of the transfer window.
