The German midfielder top player Kai Havertz has been linked with a move to Chelsea and he has give some positive news for the Blues fans.
However, The Bundesliga returned to action last weekend following a two-month hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The youngster netted twice in a 4-1 win over Werder Bremen last Monday evening and was at the double again on Saturday in a 3-1 win over Borussia Monchengladbach.
Back-to-back wins have propelled Leverkusen into third in the table, and Havertz’s performances have propelled him into the transfer spotlight. Chelsea and Liverpool have both been linked with making a summer move, with the player admitting a move abroad would interest him.
He said last month: “I want to take the next step in my career at some point. That’s my ambition. I’m ready to take a big step and I like challenges. For me, this also includes abroad.”
And after his second brace in as many matches, Havertz was once again quizzed on his future. Although on this occasion he was more coy.
He told Sky in Germany: “I do not like to say, of course, that there is a lot of speculation. I’m concentrating on this season and will see what happens afterwards. “I am very grateful to Leverkusen and I don’t want to mess it up in any way.”
