‘Medical tests booked’: ‘Incredible’ player is now about to have his Chelsea medical – journalist

Journalist Sacha Tavolieri has claimed that Chelsea have a medical test booked in for Romeo Lavia to complete as early as today.

He took to Twitter to state that the Blues have already warned their medical team to be swift about things in order to not miss out on the potential huge deal.

The Ecuador international was subject of a bid from both Chelsea and Liverpool, although he determined that he only wanted a move to Stamford Bridge.

Last night, it emerged that the ‘incredible’ Southampton midfielder had also chosen that he would rather join the Blues.

Tavolieri has now claimed that Chelsea are pushing to have a medical done for before Sunday’s game.

He said: “Romeo Lavia set TO BE a NEW CHELSEA FC PLAYER!

“Agreement in principle reached with SouthamptonFC on a 50M£ deal + add-ons.“

Last details being sorted tonight between clubs, documents needed to be checked and signed as it’s paperwork time and Chelsea wants to get Lavia for next Match Day.

“7 years contract + one year option. Medical tests been booked tomorrow by Chelsea (who warned medical team last Saturday already to be ready as quickly as possible to prevent any diversion of the Reds) and could take place after last details between clubs being sorted as the player is already in London.”

The news will come as just extra relief for the Blues, who less than a week ago faced the prospect of missing out on both of them.

The losers in this situation are Liverpool, who now need to look around the market to try and strengthen their ranks.
