Michael Owen praises top Chelsea target as a “fantastic passer of the ball”
According to reports, Declan Rice, the West Ham midfielder, has awed Liverpool icon Steven Gerrard.
However, Rice is one of the most wanted players in the Premier League, with Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester United all showing interest.
Rice has been compared to ex-teammate Steven Gerrard by Liverpool veteran Michael Owen, who admits that his passing ability is exceptional.
Listing some of his qualities and what makes Rice a top player, Owen said: “[Rice] does show signs of a Steven Gerrard, big, powerful, long action, a brilliant passer of the ball.
“He’s not just a central midfielder anymore. He breaks the game up so well, and now he’s opening up and adding those long runs to his game, becoming an all-round player.”
