Mourinho: ‘When Chelsea want to win they bring on Batshuayi. When City want to win they bring on Aguero’

Tottenham beat Norwich City 2-1 On Wednesday. However, Harry Winks picked up a serious ankle injury and joined the list of Spurs’ sidelined players. While commenting on the issue in his usual manner, Jose Mourinho has said a thing that would hardly leave any Chelsea fan cold.

“It is a very important victory for us against a difficult opponent. We suffered in the second half and we only have ourselves to blame,” the 56-year-old told BBC.

“We are in a situation when I have to think, think, think. I look to the bench and we don’t have attacking players. I had to take off Erik Lamela because of fatigue but we showed an incredible reaction to score a second goal.

“When Chelsea want to win they bring on Michy Batshuayi. When Manchester City want to change Gabriel Jesus they bring in Sergio Aguero.

“We are so, so unlucky with injuries. We get back Hugo Lloris and we lose Harry Winks. It’s incredible.”

Such a comparison seems questionable, to say the least. Batshuayi has played 21 games across all competitions this season so far, scored 5 goals and registered 2 assists.

Meanwhile, Aguero has made 23 appearances, scored 21 goals and provided 3 assists. The Argentine has also started in 17 games, compared to Michy’s 3.
