Villarreal forward Samuel Chukwueze has suggested that he is open to make a future transfer to Chelsea.
Having managed to found back of the net 12 times from 67 games for Villarreal in all competitions, the 20-year-old has been strongly linked with a future move to the English top-tier.
Although the Nigerian has previously missed out on a transfer to Arsenal, the forward has revealed that one of their London rivals has always been his favourites in the Premier Leauge. Speaking on Instagram Live, Chukwueze said: “My favourite team in England is Chelsea. I was supporting Chelsea when I was young.
“When Chelsea lost that Champions League final against Manchester United, I was crying all through the night.” Having recently signed a contract extension, Chukwueze is now tied to Spanish outfits until 2023.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are reportedly planning to make a summer move for Aston Villa key player Matt Targett.
The 24-year-old made the switch to Villa from the Saints last July and has played 24 games for Dean Smith’s club during the 2019-20 season, founding back of the net twice providing two assists in the process.
The West London club are believed to be in the market for a new left-back when the transfer window will be re-opened in the summer with both Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri being tipped to depart from the club. According to 90min, 24-year-old full-back ‘has been discussed by scouts at Stamford Bridge’ as a potential option to join them ahead of the 2020-21 season.
