Next Chelsea captain reveals after Chelsea fans voted as poll results out

However, If Cesar Azpilicueta leaves this summer as predicted, the team will require a new permanent captain. Naturally, Jorginho assumes the role of vice president, and if he continues, I expect one of the players listed below to take over as vice president. As a result, I put Jorginho in today’s ballot for that reason, but he could still depart this summer.
However, we got some votes from the Blues fans, after asking who they would want to see replace Cesar Azpilicueta as club captain on a permanent basis, and the responses were mostly straightforward.
With 43% of the vote, Thiago Silva was the most popular choice. Reece James came in second with 24 percent of the vote, followed by Jorginho and Mason Mount, both with 17 percent. These votes came from over 10,000 people, so they’re a decent representation of what Blues fans want to see.
If Jorginho leaves, I’d choose Thiago Silva as captain for the next one or two seasons, with Mason Mount or Reece James as vice-captain. I can’t choose between the two, but until Silva leaves, I’d make one of them vice captain to get captaincy experience without the true burden of being the club captain. This would be a great and logical step, in my opinion.
