Nkunku wants to be available for this next Chelsea game

Christopher Nkunku joined Chelsea from RB Leipzig last summer, and has not kicked a ball ever since.

This is because the 26-year-old picked up an unexpected injury during pre-season, and has been undergoing rehabilitation since then.

The forward scored some wonderful goals for Chelsea in pre-season, and fans have been hoping to see him replicate the same in competitive matches. And that could happen soon, if a report by The Mirror is anything to go by.

According to the outlet, Nkunku is working hard to prove he’s fit enough to play in the upcoming match against Newcastle later this month.

The Blues will face Eddie Howe’s men on November 25, just after the ongoing international break.

Per the report, the Frenchman has a ‘burning desire’ to play in that game, although the medics at Chelsea are unsure whether he’ll be completely ready for the fixture. They want to manage Nkunku well, and it could take until December before he returns.

We’re unsure how quickly Nkunku can return, but we are aware that Poch was upbeat about Nkunku’s chances of playing soon when he spoke about the player ahead of Chelsea’s 4-4 draw with Manchester City last weekend.
