“No manager can save him” “Terminate his contract” – Fans tells Potter to sell Chelsea star in January after ‘horrific’ display against Salzburg
Following his performance against RB Salzburg in their Champions League Group E match at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday, September 14, Hakim Ziyech received harsh criticism from Chelsea supporters.
Graham Potter’s debut game in command saw the Blues tie 1-1 with the Austrian champions, managing only a point despite taking the lead early in the second half. Chelsea is yet to record a victory in Europe this year.
After a deft finish from Raheem Sterling in the 48th minute, Salzburg’s Noah Okafor equalized with only 15 minutes left on the clock.
The performance of Potter’s team was unquestionably better than their previous contest, a 1-0 loss at Dinamo Zagreb that preceded Thomas Tuchel’s dismissal. Potter, who signed a five-year contract with the Blues, is viewed as a long-term option. Raheem Sterling experimented during the game, occasionally playing as a wing-back.
Fans weren’t really pleased with the tactical choice to substitute Ziyech in the 80th minute. The former Ajax winger has had a bad season and was once more unproductive. In the 88th minute, he timidly struck the ball at the goalkeeper, blowing a golden opportunity.
Chelsea fans have had enough of the Moroccan winger, who has made just four appearances this season and has yet to score or record an assist. After the full-time horn, fans criticized the playmaker on Twitter for yet another lackluster performance:
