OFFICIAL: Chelsea accept £8m fee from Arsenal for David Luiz

Chelsea have agreed with Arsenal on a fee for defender David Luiz, according to the top BBC source. The Brazilian will join the Gunners for £8m on a two-year deal.

It is also reported that Luiz will complete his medical at Arsenal today after which the transfer will be announced officially.

It was L’Equipe who yesterday broke the story that Luiz has skipped a training session at Chelsea as he is forcing a move to Arsenal.

The top Chelsea source, Matt Law, then confirmed the report saying that there was a series of fallouts in the background at the Blues surrounding the central defender.

It is believed that Brazilian was concerned that he will be sidelined this season as Lampard allegedly prefers Zouma-Christensen partnership at the central defence.

Arsenal boss Unai Emery worked with Luiz at PSG for a short time. He is interested in the Brazilian as the solution to their defensive problems.

Signed for Chelsea from Benfica in a deal worth £21.3m in 2011, Luiz then joined Paris St-Germain for £40m in 2014. the Brazilian returned to Stamford Bridge for a second spell in 2016 for £34m.
