Frank Lampad’s second season at Chelsea already looking promising as new players and new coaching staffs are coming in as well ahead of next season.
However, Chelsea have confirmed that Anthony Barry, former first-team coach at Wigan, joins Frank Lampard’s staff.
The 34-year-old is regarded highly among football professionals, and Frank Lampard is among them as they have done coaching courses together.
‘I’m delighted to welcome Anthony to the club. He’s an exciting young coach and someone I’ve known for a while. I believe he will be a strong addition to the team,” Lampard said as quoted by the official Chelsea website.
Reece James is also familiar with this coach after his groundbreaking loan spell at the Latics in the 2018/19 season.
According to some reports, Barry was in charge of defensive tactics at Wigan, and it’s something he’ll be likely doing at Chelsea as well.
