OFFICIAL: Hearing date for Chelsea transfer ban case announced

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) have announced the hearing date for the Chelsea transfer ban case. It is scheduled on November 20 with the verdict to be given before the January window.

The Blues have already served the first half of the ban lasting until the summer. The club are ineligible to register new players during this period.

Chelsea had been involved in 150 rule breaches concerning registration of 71 young players over several years, FIFA revealed.

The world football’s governing body published a 44-page paper that lists the reasons for Chelsea’s two-window transfer ban imposed on the club earlier this year.

In short, FIFA states that Chelsea let unregistered young players participate in organised football, thus dismissing the club’s defensive argument that those were only training games.
