Chelsea made it seven away wins in a row on Saturday at Vicarage Road.
The Blues were dominant, registering 10 shots on target to their opponents’ three. They were able to score twice.
Through Tammy Abraham and Christian Pulisic, but they really should have scored more, and would have had it not been for the heroic performance of Ben Foster in the Hornets’ goal.
Not being clinical enough can always cause problems, and it could have come back to bite the Stamford Bridge outfit when Gerard Deulofeu scored a penalty with 10 minutes left on the clock, especially when Foster headed towards goal in the the final minute of injury time.
Fortunately, Frank Lampard’s own shot-stopper, £54m-valued Kepa Arrizabalaga (as per Transfermarkt), was on hand to turn the 36-year-old’s effort around the post.
