On his way to Stamford Bridge – Chelsea’s second summer signing ‘to take private jet ahead of his medical on Thursday’
According to reports, Chelsea incoming second summer signing Kalidou Koulibaly is getting ready to go on a private jet to London to finish tomorrow’s Chelsea medical.
However, The Senegalese defender, who spent eight years with Italian powerhouse Napoli, is anticipated to join with the west London club for £34 million tomorrow.
Following the exits of Andreas Christensen to Barcelona earlier this month and Antonio Rudiger to Real Madrid, Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has been eager to bolster the defense.
The Blues are allegedly close to signing experienced 31-year-old Koulibaly after apparently considering offers for Paris Saint-Germain defender Presnel Kimpembe and Manchester City center-half Nathan Ake.
The Senegal captain is prepared to board a private aircraft and go to west London in advance of his Stamford Bridge medical on Thursday, according to Sky Sport Italia.
According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Luciano Spalletti, the manager of Napoli, informed his team earlier this week that Koulibaly was “nearly gone” and that he will leave the club this summer.
When Koulibaly reportedly “rejected a contract extension with Napoli” amid initial links to Barcelona, the Italian club was forced to organize a transfer as he entered his contract’s final year.
