One manager that can replace Maurizio Sarri at Chelsea

Rife reports have indicated that Maurizio Sarri has decided to call time on his spell with Chelsea. According to Goal, the Italian tactician has reached agreement with Serie A champions Juventus. Now, the big question is who would replace the boss at Stamford Bridge?

Sarri replaced his compatriot Antonio Conte at the reigns of the Blues only last season. Under his management, he has met the expectation leveled on him having ended the Premier League season in third place on the log and clinching the Europa league title in grand style.

There were times when Sarri’s tactics and faith in Jorginho was questioned but the manager established his ‘Sarri ball’ ideology regardless. His imminent departure from the club is likely going to set them back because a new manager would come in with his own style and distabilise what worked well last season.

With a transfer ban still in place to deal with, Chelsea may not be very attractive at the moment. Frank Lampard has been dubbed as favourite to replace Sarri but take a swipe at a possible replacement for the outgoing boss.

Laurent Blanc
Known for his pragmatic coaching style, Blanc has been out of job since he left Paris Saint Germain in 2016. Chelsea could take advantage of his break and lure him with an offer.

Blanc played under Sir Alex Ferguson in the Premier League and so, he must have an idea of the nitty-gritty of English football. Although his cabinet is trophy laden, he wasn’t very successful in Europe as a manager but this could spur him to do very well for Chelsea given the right financial support.

Lampard has been linked with a move to Chelsea but he would be a good assistant for Blanc methinks.
