Ousmane Dembele finally makes Chelsea transfer decision, as Blues desperate to agree deal for €70m-rated Brazil international

Barcelona striker Ousmane Dembele has responded to suggestions that he wants to join Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea this summer.

Dembele was the joint-second most expensive move in history when he joined for Barcelona at more than £100 million in 2017.

The now-25-year-old winger had made a mark at Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund and had established himself as a regular for France, featuring in the country’s 2018 World Cup victory.

Dembele, on the other hand, has struggled at Barcelona this season, scoring only two goals in 32 appearances.
The midfielder is eager to leave Barcelona, according to rumours in Spain, and wants to join Chelsea, who have expressed interest in a summer deal.

Following a dismal domestic season, Tuchel is looking to improve his offensive options, and Dembele is considered to be a good match for his squad at Stamford Bridge.

Dembele, on the other hand, appears to have put an end to Chelsea’s hopes of signing him this summer by telling a fan that he is ‘happy’ with Barcelona and will stay put.

According to footage that has leaked on social media, a fan communicates with Dembele while they sit in their cars at a traffic signal.

The fan inquires, ‘Are you remaining in Barcelona?’ Dembele responds, ‘Yes.’

Chelsea has identified PSG defender Marquinhos as a possible summer signing as they continue their search for defensive reinforcements. The 28-year-old centre-back, whom the German boss handled at Paris, would ‘love’ to join his team.

The Blues are bracing for a huge exodus, and they’ll need help in practically every department. Kepa Arrizabalaga, the world’s most expensive goalkeeper, appears to be on his way out after falling down the pecking order since Mendy’s arrival.

Jorginho and Kante both have one year left on their contracts with the club, so there could be departures from the midfield as well. Lukaku, Werner, and Ziyech have all been linked with exits in the attacking department.

The Blues, on the other hand, are in serious need of defensive reinforcements. Christensen and Rudiger, the club’s first-choice defenders, will not be returning next season. While Christensen is said to have reached an agreement with Barcelona, the German strategist has already moved to Real Madrid.

PSG has had the Brazilian international since 2013 and he is now the club captain. Thomas Tuchel, on the other hand, is a big fan of Marquinhos and wants to bring him in this summer.

Between 2018 and 2020, Thomas Tuchel was the manager of the South American defender for the French giants. Chelsea may struggle to persuade PSG to sell the Brazilian, given he is one of the club’s most essential players.
