Peter Crouch reveals two Chelsea players Potter must address after shock performance in 1-1 draw against Salzburg
Peter Crouch thinks that Graham Potter needs to instill confidence in his Chelsea players since guys like Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Hakim Ziyech clearly lack it.
However, on Wednesday night, Potter took charge of the Blues for the first time, but the result against RB Salzburg at Stamford Bridge was a depressing 1-1 draw.
Despite Raheem Sterling giving Chelsea the lead early in the second half, they were unable to seal the victory despite dominating the match. With 15 minutes remaining, Noah Okafor equalized, and the Blues missed a few opportunities to take the lead before the game’s end.
While Ziyech entered the game in the second half and looked dangerous, he was unable to make up for Aubameyang’s lackluster performance when he started the game.
However, According to Crouch, these two and other players are having confidence issues, which Potter needs to address.
‘Some positives,’ Crouch told BT Sport. ‘But Champions League against Salzburg at home you’d be expected to win that game. They had chances to do that.
‘There’s a bit of a lack of confidence in certain players. Ziyech when he come on, you could see his shoulders are down. Aubameyang as well over the last two games.
‘I think there’s a few players suffering with a lack of confidence and that’s something he really needs to address.’
