Ahead of the January transfer window, Atletico Madrid Jose Gimenez has hinted he’s waiting to join Chelsea after he liked a tweet about his potential Chelsea transfer.
The Uruguayan centre-back has already claimed to have strong feelings for Chelsea.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano recently confirmed Chelsea are preparing to submit a bid for the defender.
With 60 caps for Uruguay and 133 La Liga appearances at just the age of 25, Gimenez is a very experienced centre-back who could be a very valuable addition to the Blues.
Chelsea already have 5 senior centre-backs on their books – and that number does not include summer signing Malang Sarr who has left on loan. Signing Gimenez will heavily depend on what happens to Andreas Christensen, Antonio Rudiger and Fikayo Tomori at Chelsea.
