Chelsea players were back in action at Stamford Bridge today for the first time since March, as the team played a friendly in preparation for the visit to Aston Villa on Sunday, June 21, our first game since the season was paused in March following the coronavirus outbreak.

The Blues held an in-house friendly with the squad split into sides, one wearing the home shirt and the other side in our white away kit with match rules and conditions in place. Chelsea boss Frank Lampard and his coaching staff officiated the game at Stamford Bridge.

One team wore the blue home kit and the other were in the white change strip.

Cesar Azpilicueta, Jorginho, Mason Mount, Tammy Abraham, Willian, Loftus-Cheek were part of the “home” team, along with the soon-to-depart Pedro Rodriguez.

The “away” side featured Toni Rudiger, Ross Barkley, Mateo Kovacic, Marcos Alonso, Kurt Zouma and Olivier Giroud.

N’Golo Kante was not involved as he continues to be absent for personal reasons. No time-frame has been set for the France midfielder’s return.
