Chelsea 4 vs 0 Morecambe: Player ratings- as Timo Werner ends goal drought
Chelsea returned to winning ways as the Blues beat Morecambe 4-0 to go to the next round of the FA Cup.
Goals from Mason Mount, Timo Werner, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Kai Havertz gave Chelsea an easy lead against the League Two side.
below are the player ratings below
Kepa: Basically had nothing to do all game as the Chelsea defence never got attacked. Dealt with a nervy cross from Adam Phillips that almost caught him out, but he recovered afterwards. It was his 100th Chelsea appearance. 6/10
Azpilicueta: With Chelsea holding the ball for most of the game, he spent a considerable time going forward and delivered a good cross for Kai Havertz to score the fourth goal. 7/10
Zouma: Calm in defence. No much work to do. 7/10
Rudiger: Easy game at the back alongside Zouma. 7/10
Emerson: Kept bombarding the left flank and was a steady outlet high up the pitch as Chelsea dominated the game from start to finish. 7/10
Gilmour: Sat deep in midfield and controlled possession from there. Everything went through him in the middle of the park. 7/10
Mount: Had a good game and scored Chelsea’s first goal with a nice shot from outside the box. His goal opened up the Morecambe defence as they were intent on locking up shop. 8/10
Kai Havertz: Would be glad to find the target and also get an assist, both with his head. Besides his goal and assist, his general display was good and his touch on the ball oozed class. 8/10
Ziyech: Looked sharper than in the game against Manchester City, having just come back from injury. His assist for Hudson-Odoi’s goal was world class. 8/10
Hudson-Odoi: Scored a good goal and was dangerous on the pitch all game long. Assisted Mount for the first goal and got his own goal just after the restart. Very good performance as he always looked dangerous on the ball. 9/10
Werner: Would be glad to end his barren spell as he scored Chelsea’s second of the game. This game could hopefully serve as a confident booster for the German international. 8/10
Subs: Pulisic: Came on for Ziyech in the 64th minute and almost got a goal. 6/10
Giroud: Replaced Werner in the 64th minute and had some good moments. 6/10
Tammy Abraham: 74th minute sub for Mason Mount as Chelsea switched to a 4-4-2 system. Had one chance but held on to the ball for too long. 6/10
Anjorin: 80th minute sub for Hudson-Odoi, and he looked impressive. Not enough time to show his worth. 6/10
Tomori: 80th minute sub for Zouma as he got a rare opportunity. 6/10
