Player ratings Crystal Palace 1 vs 4 Chelsea as Blues move back to top 4

Chelsea were in rampant mode as the Blues defeated Crystal Palace 4-1 at Selhurst Park on Saturday evening.

A Christian Pulisic brace and goals from Kai Havertz and Kurt Zouma gave the Blues a deserved victory. It could easily have a cricket score but for some missed chances.

See the player ratings below

Mendy: Had nothing to do almost all through the game. Unfortunately, he got beaten by a stunning Christian Benteke header. 6/10

Azpilicueta: Handled Wilfred Zaha whenever they crossed path, and he was just a rock in defence. 7.5/10

Zouma: Played in the centre of a back three and put in a solid performance. Went forward and got a goal as well. He handled Benteke pretty well and rose high to beat the experienced Gary Cahill for his goal. 8/10

Rudiger: Cool in defence and did his job smoothly. Chelsea’s defence put in a great shift. 7/10

Hudson-Odoi: Had a blistering first half and contributed to Kai Havertz early goal. Was just too hot for the Palace defence to cope with, as his runs always seemed dangerous. 7.5/10

Chilwell: Was beaten in the air by Benteke for Palace’s only goal. But other than that, he had a very good game. Bombarded the left flank all day and had some good opportunities. He could easily have scored a goal. 7/10

Jorginho: Seemed to have recovered from his lethargic display against West Brom as he put in a very fine performance against Palace. His passing was brilliant and he dictated play with finesse from the middle of the park. He was keen to find Kai Havertz with some balls from deep and he was a joy to watch. 8/10

Kovacic: Had a good understanding with Jorginho. Was brilliant on the ball and neat and tidy in possession. 8/10

Mount: Exceptional display from the young midfielder. He formed a good understanding with the forward players and also with Hudson-Odoi. His fine delivery found the head of Kurt Zouma for Chelsea’s third goal. Put in a number of good balls into the box and also tested the goalkeeper. 8/10

Kai Havertz: He was brilliant today as he put in a phenomenal display from a false nine position. Scored the opener with a fine finish and moments later he teed up Christian Pulisic for the Blues’ second. He could easily have scored a hat-trick today, but we won’t take that away from his fine performance. 8.5/10

Pulisic: Got a rare start and proved his worth to the manager with a fine performance. Scored Chelsea’s second and got into a couple of goalscoring opportunities, as he scored the 4th goal as well. 9/10

Subs:Kante: Took time to come to grips with the game, but did okay after replacing Jorginho on the hour mark. 6/10

Reece James: Came on for the final 15 minutes of the game, as he replaced Hudson-Odoi. Took to the game immediately and delivered a number of fine balls into the box, including a fine assist for Pulisic. 7/10

Ziyech: Despite coming on as a late sub, he still made an impact, as he laid a fine pass to Kai Havertz late in the. 6/10
