Pochettino announces Chelsea players ‘excited’ about £170M duos Stamford Bridge arrivals

Mauricio Pochettino has revealed that the CHELSEA players were excited by the signings of Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia this summer.

The Blues have once again spent some serious money this transfer window and improved all areas of the squad, but it is the signings of Lavia and Caicedo that have got many people talking.

For one, both players were heavily linked with a move to Liverpool as the Reds had offers accepted – but both rejected the chance to make the move to Merseyside and instead chose London.

As we all know – Caicedo arrived at the club for a massive fee of £115 million – while Lavia joined the club in a deal worth £55 million, which is seen as a real bargain for the Blues.

And after getting both players – Mauricio Pochettino has opened up and revealed that his squad were happy about the two new arrivals.

He told the club website: ‘It was further proof of CHELSEA’s ambition, with the new duo joining a young and hungry squad eager to create a fresh dynasty at Stamford Bridge.

‘I could feel the excitement in the players that are here when Caicedo and Lavia decided to come here,’ revealed Pochettino.

‘It was a big boost to the players knowing they are at a club where this was possible. They wanted to join us, and that is so exciting. You can feel the atmosphere, the energy in the training ground. We are so happy about that.

‘The fans I think are happy, and they showed in the Liverpool game they were behind the team. They were very loud. The feeling is very good, and the players really appreciate the energy from the crowd.

‘The feeling we are translating to outside is good. Now we need to work hard and be clever with our process and our principles.’

‘Before signing these players we needed to expect to win. We need to build the mentality anything is possible. The belief has to be there.

‘With Moi and Romeo, it’s not going to increase that percentage or the belief. We had the belief before. But now the team is going to have better tools, quality players, and is closer to winning, for sure.’
