‘Possible move to Chelsea’: Michail Antonio believes Mauricio Pochettino can sign ‘world-class’ player to join Chelsea

Michail Antonio has claimed he believes it’s a possibility that Mauricio Pochettino can convince Harry Kane to join Chelsea.

He told ‘The Footballer’s Football Podcast’ that the England captain could well be convinced when his current contract expires at the end of next season.

It has been another sensational individual campaign for Kane, although it does look like he is set to endure more pain as far as playing for Tottenham is concerned.

It has already been confirmed that Spurs will finish outside the top four, and it’s likely they will miss out on the Europa League too.

This has seen speculation over the striker’s future reach new heights, after numerous seasons where he has been linked with a move away from North London.

One of the sides who have emerged as a potential shock landing spot are Chelsea, despite the obvious rivalry between the two stars.

Pochettino could convince Kane

Answering fellow podcast host Callum Wilson, Antonio said he can see a world where Pochettino can convince his former star to make the move across the capital.

The Newcastle man said: “Pochettino.. Kane out of contract… Maybe, you know.”

To which Antonio replied: “That is a possibility.”

It is widely expected that Pochettino will be announced as the new permanent manager at Stamford Bridge in the coming days ahead of next season.

It has been a lengthy recruitment process for the club, as they are keen to not make the same mistakes that they did when they decided to hire Graham Potter earlier this season.

Manchester United are the current reported favourites to complete a deal for Kane, however this could clear a path for the Blues to have a run at Victor Osimhen, who will certainly be wanted by Europe’s elite this summer.
