Pressure on Liverpool – Big new signing ‘will be the difference’ for Chelsea as message sent to Klopp
According to reports, Noel Whelan has claimed the signing of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang could “make the difference” for Chelsea
After all the players that Chelsea were linked too during the course of the transfer window – it was Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang that the club managed to bring in on deadline day
Aubameyang is a player that was loving life over in Spain – playing on a regular basis and scoring goals – but he would have been sitting on the bench after the arrival of Robert Lewandowski
There are many out there that believe that Aubameyang will struggle to get back to his best in the Premier League – especially after his showing towards the end of his time over at Arsenal
However – Whelan has backed Aubameyang to help the Londoners keep pace with the title challengers this term.
He told Football Insider: “He’s gonna bring some pace and experience to Chelsea.
“He has played at big clubs and he knows the pressures. He had a great stint at Barcelona after a disappointing end at Barcelona.
“He’s got unfinished business in the Premier League, and I think it’s a brilliant signing for Chelsea. They were crying out for a number nine, and they’ve got one who knows where the goal is.
“Aubameyang has a fantastic relationship with Thomas Tuchel, too.
“If he can get the best out of him, then this signing could very well make the difference for Chelsea.
“It’s still early in the season, and if he catches fire – he could help Chelsea put real pressure on the likes of Liverpool in the top four.”
