Chelsea beat Aston villa 2-1 at the Villa’s Park on Sunday afternoon, and the victory helped the Blues to have a five-point clear gap between fifth placed Manchester United.
One man who was pleased with the result is incoming Chelsea player Hakim Ziyech. Ziyech completed his transfer from Ajax to Chelsea in February and he’d officially become a Chelsea player from July 1.
Ziyech definitely had an eye on Chelsea’s game against Villa as the Blues came from behind to secure a massive win over Villa courtesy of goals from Christian Pulisic and Olivier Giroud.
The result moves Chelsea five points clear of Manchester United in fifth place and just three behind Leicester City in third.
An elated Antonio Rudiger posted on Instagram after the game how pleased he was with the three points, and Ziyech responded to the post. Ziyech responded with a clapping emoji, showing that he was pleased as well. He’d definitely be keeping a keen eye on Chelsea’s result as he wants the Blues to finish in a Champions League place.
