Reasons why Thomas Tuchel was appointed as Frank Lampard’s replacement revealed
According to reports, Chelsea finally got their hands on Thomas Tuchel some hours ago days after they sacked club legend Frank Lampard who failed to live up to expectations.
Frank Lampard was shown the exit door after just 18 months and Thomas Tuchel who was recently sacked by Paris Saint-Germain joined the blues on the same 18 months deal.
Though he has the option of extending the deal if things work out, the main reason why he was signed ahead of other candidates has been revealed.
According to the Daily Mirror, Tuchel was hired for his record of working with young players and that fits with the new generation of players coming through at the club.
He will be tasked with bringing the best out of the young players like Timo Werner, Kai Havertz, Mason Mount, Recce James and a host of others.
Though Frank Lampard was instrumental in the advancement of these players into the team, Tuchel was reportedly signed to continue the good job.
Reports also added that Chelsea wanted a German or German speaker to try and build on the growing German influence in the dressing room.
The likes of Timo Werner and Kai Havertz joined the club last summer and have been struggling but the club believes Tuchel will be able to spark them to their great form.
He will be eager to prove a point when Chelsea meet Wolverhampton Wanderers in their first match under his reign.
