Referee Lahoz finally reveals why he cried after Chelsea UCL victory, as 41goal-machine ‘has an offer’ from Chelsea to make Stamford Bridge move

As we all know Spanish referee Antonio Mateu Lahoz, took charge of Chelsea’s Champions League final clash against Manchester City, and the experienced Spaniard did a great job in that game.

However, Lahoz was hailed for his incredible performance in the game in Porto, and just after he blew his final whistle, he was emotional and let out a tear.

Meanwhile, Lahoz was emotional after the game, Lahoz finally revealed that he didn’t expect he’d officiate a Champions League final, which is usually a rare occasion reserved only for the best.

“Honestly, I never really imagined that, one day, I would referee a Champions League final,” the Spaniard told UEFA before the final.

“Refereeing is happiness for me, and I think the key to being a referee is to always be yourself. When you referee a match, you’re taking charge of many different personalities. You’re part of the game.”

Lahoz will retire at the end of this summer’s European Championship, and is keen to pass on his knowledge to the younger refs.

“I like to teach, and like to learn,” he continued when prompted about his retirement.

“It’s good to pass on the experience that you’ve gained to younger referees. I like helping my colleagues in this way.”

Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski reportedly already has offers on the table from the likes of Chelsea.

Lewandowski is one of Europe’s elite goalscorers and has unsurprisingly attracted interest from some of the continent’s biggest clubs over the past few seasons as he continues scoring goals for fun

The 32-year-old striker netted 41 league goals in the 2020/21 season for Bayern to break Gerd Muller’s Bundesliga record, which had stood for 49 years, but there has been alot of speculation regarding the players future

According to AS, Lewandowski is ‘open to the possibility of changing of scene and facing new challenges’ this summer – a stance which will be music to the ears of Bayern’s rivals.

Bayern are understandably ‘very reluctant’ to lose their main man, but the Polish striker already ‘has offers from several top teams’, including the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City and PSG

The reports add While Bayern might keep hold of him this summer, there is a suggestion the German club could be more receptive to offers next summer, when Lewandowski enters the final 12 years of his contract.
