Pedro is allegedly hopeful that Chelsea will decide to offer him a new contract in the coming weeks.
The 32-year-old’s existing deal at Stamford Bridge is due to expire at the end of June, and a host of clubs, including Roma and Real Betis, are thought to be interested in Pedro’s services.
He recently admitted that he had not yet spoken to the management about the possibility of extending his stay, while an agreement is said to be unlikely at this stage as the Blues plan for the future.
However, according to ESPN, the Spanish star is hoping ‘for a late change of heart’ from the PL outfit as he wants to extend his stay at Stamford Bridge.
Pedro reportedly wants a two-year contract, but Chelsea have a rule of only offering one-year extensions to stars over the age of 30, which is a policy that is expected to see the club lose Willian on a free transfer.
The former Barcelona forward has only scored twice in 18 games at club level this campaign.
