According to The Sun, Barcelona defender Samuel Umtiti will rather join Chelsea than Manchester United but he faces an obstacle to joining Chelsea.
Despite Umtiti’s desire to leave Barcelona for Chelsea rather than Manchester United, the report claims Chelsea prefer Lille centre-back Gabriel Magalhaes over Umtiti.
Chelsea have reportedly made initial contact with Barcelona regarding Umtiti but the Blues will only pursue a move for Umtiti if the club fails to land Gabriel from Lille.
Chelsea reportedly have a £30 million bid for Gabriel accepted by Lille, which is less than the £44 million Barcelona will demand for Umtiti.
Umtiti has struggled with a number of knee injuries which has seen him lose his starting spot at Barcelona while Gabriel on the other hand, has been an important player for Lille this season.
