REPORT: Chelsea ready to spend big on Bundesliga star player as Kante’s replacement
According to Eurosport via Daily Express, Chelsea are ready to spend big on Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham in the summer of 2022 when he is expected to become a world-class player.
The report claims Chelsea boss Frank Lampard likes the fact he can play anywhere through the middle of midfield and is ready to ditch a move for West Ham midfielder Declan Rice.
Bellingham is widely regarded as one of the most exciting English talents at the moment.
The 17-year-old was playing for Birmingham City’s first-team under Pep Clotet as a 16-year-old, and saw his number 22 shirt retired when he chose to leave, such was his immense talent and potential.
Bellingham is just a few months into his three-year deal at Bayern Munich but he is already being linked with an exit from the German club.
With N’Golo Kante still under contract until 2023, the Blues are happy to wait until the summer of 2022 before signing a long-term replacement for Kante.
