Chelsea are set to take their summer spending to around the £250million mark with the addition of Rennes goalkeeper Edouard Mendy, having also spent massively on Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner, Ben Chilwell and Kai Havertz. Malang Sarr and Thiago Silva were free signings.

With Chelsea having significantly strengthened the club, a number of players are expected to leave, to free some space in the first team.

Mario Pasalic has sealed a move to Atalanta, Tiemoue Bakayoko is set to complete a move to AC Milan. Kenedy is set to join Granada on loan, while Ethan Ampadu has already been shipped on loan to Sheffield United.

The Chelsea midfield seems choked at the moment, and reports claim Ross Barkley has been told he can leave Chelsea this summer as the club will try to recoup some of the funds spent so far.

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard seems set to make N’Golo Kante and Billy Gilmour marshal the deep playmaker role, meaning Jorginho could no longer be needed at the club.

Also, Atalanta are reportedly in talks with Chelsea to re-sign Davide Zappacosta on loan. Emerson Palmieri is also on his way out of the club, with Danny Drinkwater as well. Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori could as well leave the club on loan this summer.

With Chelsea currently with blessed with three strikers, there may be no room left for Michy Batshuayi, who’s set to leave this summer.
