Chelsea target David Alaba is considering a move to the Premier League after rejecting a contract extension at Bayern Munich, according to reports.
The Austrian has one year to run on his existing deal at the Allianz Arena and the German giants are keen on tying him down on a new long-term extension.
However, Alaba rejected the club’s last offer and that’s alerted Premier League giants Chelsea and Manchester United.
The 28-year-old came through at Bayern as a left-back but he’s been moved inside this season due to the emergence of Canadian superstar Alphonso Davies.
Alaba is undecided over staying at the club but he’s certain that Bayern’s latest offer is not good enough, as he wants parity with top earners Robert Lewandowski and Manuel Neuer before considering extending his deal.
Sky Sports claim Alaba is considering leaving the club and that if he decides to leave, a quick-fire move to England could be on the cards.
Both Chelsea and Manchester United are desperate to sign a centre-back this summer and a greater guarantee of playing in his favoured position could persuade Alaba to leave Bayern.
United are currently focusing their efforts on signing Dortmund superstar Jadon Sancho, while Chelsea want to sign Kai Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen before addressing other areas of Frank Lampard’s squad.
