According to The Sun, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is looking at a surprise swoop for 37-year-old Ben Foster as he searches for a solution to his goalkeeping problems.
Lampard wants Kepa Arrizabalaga out of Chelsea this summer after losing faith in the Spaniard and the Blues would loan him back to Spain if the deal was right.
Chelsea reportedly want to replace Kepa without paying fortunes and Foster is being discussed as a potential replacement for the Spaniard.
Foster got relegated with Watford and will happily jump at the offer of playing for the Blues next season. Lampard reportedly believes the former England international will be a good replacement for Kepa without the Blues having to spend much.
Chelsea aren’t the only club interested in signing the 37 year old as Everton are also interested in signing the Watford goalkeeper.
Will signing Foster to fight with fellow ‘oldie’ Willy Caballero, 38, be the answer to Chelsea’s goalkeeping problems?
