Some players Chelsea buy who go straight into the first team, some who go on loan to try and earn their place in the team, and some who you feel will never get a chance, no matter where they end up.
That was the case with Danilo Pantic, who was first sent to Vitesse Arnhem on loan, but never really made it higher up the ladder than that.
From there he had a sideways move to Excelsior, also in the Eredivisie, before playing two spells back with Partizan Belgrade, no doubt the biggest stage of his career so far, then in Hungary.
He’s ended up back in his homeland with Čukarički, and it looks like he will be staying put.
Now sources in Serbia like Zurnal are saying he’s completed a permanent move away from Chelsea, after never coming close to a first team appearance.
The fee isn’t mentioned, but one can only imagine it will be pretty tiny by Chelsea’s standards. The Blues are looking to trim their loan army to keep in line with new FIFA rules, and we can expect to see more of this kind of move in the next 12 months.
