REPORT: Pulisic set to be out for few weeks. Can Chelsea cope without him?
Christian Pulisic is known to be injury prone and since signing for Chelsea, his career has had so many stops due to injury.
The American international was injured in warm-up just before the game against Burnley as he pulled his hamstring, and Timo Werner had to come in for him. Chelsea would eventually win the game 3-0 without the star winger.
Frank Lampard has given an update on him that he won’t be out for long, as he said: “Yes, he felt a little something in his hamstring. He’s frustrated because he’s worked so hard to get fit.
“Hopefully it’s short term, we’re talking weeks. It’s a minor feeling that he had but definitely not right to go into 90 minutes of a game with that.”
Pulisic was unarguably Chelsea’s best player in the second half of last season, and the team seemed to struggle last season in his absence. He has also sorely been missed for most games this season.
However, the signings of Kai Havertz, Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner proved to be quality, and indeed they are picking form at the right time, especially Ziyech who has had his own share of injury problems.
The big question is, can Chelsea cope without Pulisic?
Verdict: For the first time in months, we can confidently back the lads to do the job without Pulisic, especially with Ziyech picking up form at the right time.
