Report: Six players Chelsea must sell and four players the Blues must sign this summer

Chelsea’s need for signings have been made even obvious following the 3-0 defeat to Bayern Munich on Tuesday night.

TalkSPORT has revealed six players Chelsea must sell in the summer and four players the Blues must sign.

According to talkSPORT, Chelsea must sell Ross Barkley, Marcos Alonso, Antonio Rudiger, Pedro, Giroud and Willian. TalkSPORT also revealed the players the Blues must sign this summer.

“Marcos Alonso, Antonio Rudiger, Pedro, Giroud and Willian should all be sold in the summer,” according to talkSPORT.

“None of them are up to the required standard – and although this seems harsh on Rudiger, his positioning and awareness on the field has not improved and the Blues should cash in on the German while he is still rated.

“A new centre-back must be signed to partner Andreas Christensen at the back, while Kurt Zouma and Fikayo Tomori continue to develop as back-ups.

“Dayot Upamecano has been superb for RB Leipzig and he should be prioritised at all costs, but if that isn’t possible another name who could fill the void is Leicester’s Caglar Soyuncu who has also shined this season.

“The signing of Jadon Sancho, a boyhood Chelsea fan, and another striker, should also be made as the clear lack of goalscorers is more apparent than ever.

“Timo Werner reportedly has a £30m release clause and if Blues chiefs have any sense they would at least attempt to hijack Liverpool’s move for the striker.

“Barkley should be shown the door as soon as possible and the signing of a goalscoring midfielder – perhaps James Maddison or Jack Grealish – should be at the top of the agenda.

“These three signings would at least make Chelsea a certainty for top four next season, but right now a decent run in the Champions League is a million miles away.”
