Pundits explains why Tammy Abraham is not good enough to be Chelsea’s first choice striker

According to ex-Chelsea defender Jason Cundy, Tammy Abraham isn’t good enough to be a starter for Chelsea.

Cundy also wants the Blues to sell Michy Batshuayi at the end of the season because he believes the Belgian isn’t good enough for the Blues.

“No complaints whatsoever,” Cundy told talkSPORT.

“Every single one of their players was better than ours, simpler as that.

“We were outclassed by a brilliant side, they reminded me of the way Liverpool play, and it just shows how far we are away from that level.

“It’s a rude awakening, and eye-opener, and in some way it’s a game that you can look back on and say what do Chelsea need to do, how can we improve.

“Well, all over the pitch but, for me, next season Chelsea have got to go big on a striker.

“Tammy right now is not a first-choice number nine, he’s a second striker, Giroud gives us something different and Batshuayi is just not good enough.

“When Tammy came on we had a few half-chances against Bayern but Tammy has got to learn that in the box he has to get either in front or beyond the centre-half.

“Ian Wright was the best at that and I know Tammy is still young, but there were two brilliant balls across the face of goal and Tammy has got to lean that when the ball goes wide you’ve got to make a run, because that ball is going to come, you’ve got to anticipate.”
