REPORT: Tomori to leave if Chelsea sign this £80 million defender

According to The Athletic, Chelsea will consider sending Tomori out on loan next season so that he can play more regularly if a deal for Rice is completed.

However, Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori started 14 Premier League games before the turn of the year, but has played just once in the league in 2020, with another two starts coming in the FA Cup.

Injuries and a loss of form has played a part in Tomori’s lack of game time in 2020.

However, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is keen on signing £80 million West Ham midfielder Declan Rice this summer and intends using the England international as a centre-back.

The report also claims Tomori could even be offered to West Ham United as a means of trying to help negotiations over Rice.
