As we all know Chelsea were heavily linked with West Ham midfielder Declan Rice, with Chelsea boss Frank Lampard keen on signing the England international.
Despite Rice’s interest in joining Chelsea, West Ham were reluctant to sell the midfielder and placed an asking price of £80million.
According to The Sun, West Ham are ready to offer Rice a bumper new £120,000-a-week contract after keeping the midfielder out of Chelsea’s clutches this summer.
The player is two years into his five-and-a-half-year contract, which saw him jump from £3,000-a-week to £60,000-a-week.
The £120,000 a week deal will make Rice the highest paid player at West Ham.
West Ham co-owners David Sullivan and David Gold believe Rice is deserving of a new package that recognises him as David Moyes’ main man at the London Stadium.
