The Blues have been given some reasonable transfer advice over the years, but this might take the biscuit.

Atletico Madrid took Chelsea’s lead from last week and knocked Liverpool out of a competition, defeating them in the Champions League last night. The Spanish side were kept in the game in the early stages thanks to their brilliant Slovenian goalkeeper Jan Oblak.

He’s long been one of – if not THE – world’s best goalkeepers, so obviously Chelsea would love to sign him. The Metro reported quotes from Graeme Souness in his role as a pundit where he suggested he would be a great signing for us, although we might not already know that:

“Oblak was absolutely superb, he was making saves all over and was impossible to breach at times,” the former Newcastle boss said.

“Chelsea are looking for a goalkeeper. He’s been a top man for a long time,” he advised.

Given our current first choice keeper was literally dropped for a month, there aren’t many goalies who wouldn’t be an upgrade, let alone the guy regarded as the best in the world by some.

Thanks for that Graeme. If you this little guy Messi playing next week let us know what you think of him too. We reckon he could be a decent prospect for this summer too.
