Respecting Tuchel too much makes him play poorly sometimes – Gus Poyet says of Chelsea player
Since Thomas Tuchel arrival at Chelsea the Chelsea players has been treated nicely, the way he defends them anytime the team has some bad results.
However, according to Chelsea legend Gus Poyet has claimed that Hakim Ziyech has been at his best at Chelsea because he respects Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel too much.
According to Poyet, Ziyech has been playing too cautiously for Chelsea because he was avoiding doing anything wrong.
“I think he [Ziyech[ respects Tuchel [so much] that he did not want to do anything wrong. Poyet said.
“By [avoiding] doing anything wrong, sometimes he plays [too cautiously].
“But when he gets that extra confidence, after the goal, it was incredible, the change in his attitude.
“That’s what you want from him.”
It must also be noted that Ziyech hasn’t played in his favoured wing role under Tuchel with the Chelsea boss instead playing him as one of the two no.10s in the 3-4-3.
Giving his verdict on Ziyech’s performance against Tottenham Hotspur, Tuchel said: “Maybe it was his best game, it was a very good game overall.
“He took the risk where it was possible, he was safe when it was possible to be safe.
“It’s probably the best position for him, we don’t normally have this position in a 3-4-3. The overlap gave him the space and the strike was brilliant.”
