Kai Havertz was played in his favourite No. 10 position against Barnsley, and the Blues got a 6-0 win at Stamford Bridge.
Havertz scored a hat-trick and ran the show in the middle of the park. The 21-year-old impressed massively, and it comes at a good time after he was heavily criticised after the first two games.
Speaking about Havertz’s performance after the match, Lampard was pleased as he said: “I was delighted with Kai and everything of the night that I wanted from him.”
Lampard had previously played Havertz as a winger and as a false nine but he didn’t affect the game.
Lampard had insisted that Kai Havertz would come good, and the German has now lived up to expectations, and many will be hoping he would continue in this manner.
Havertz also hinted after the game that he loves to play as a No.10.
