Revealed: What Tuchel’s red card means for Chelsea and how many games he could miss

Sunday’s match between Chelsea and Tottenham ended in a tense 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge.

There was a lot of tension throughout the London derby game, especially between Thomas Tuchel and Antonio Conte.

However, Managers may receive a yellow or red card depending on the nature of their wrongdoing in the technical area.

Prior to 2018, coaches could only receive a warning from the referee or be dismissed.

Four yellow cards in a season will result in a touchline suspension for the manager, while eight yellow cards will result in a two-game match suspension.

A manager will face an FA misconduct hearing if they are given 16 yellow cards during the course of the season.

A manager will also be asked to leave the technical area if they receive a second yellow card during a game.

At the conclusion of the game against Tottenham, Thomas Tuchel received a red card; a manager who receives a red card will be required to serve a one-match touchline suspension. However, if aggressive behavior is present, this prohibition may last longer.

Following their altercation at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel and Tottenham manager Antonio Conte have both been charged by the FA.

Meanwhile, The FA has since confirmed in a statement that the two have been charged with “improper behavior” after the conclusion of the game.

It is alleged that the behaviour of both managers was improper following the end of the fixture.
