According to reports in France, Chelsea are yet to announce the signing of Rennes goalkeeper Edouard Mendy because the French club are demanding a Chelsea player be added to the deal.
French media outlet Telefoot claim Rennes are demanding Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori as part of the deal for Mendy.
However, it is unclear if Rennes want Tomori on a permanent deal or just on a season-long loan following his solid performances under Frank Lampard last term.
Chelsea have already agreed a five year deal with Mendy ahead of his move to Stamford Bridge.
Meanwhile, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard claimed he’s happy with Kepa Arrizabalaga following Chelsea’s 3-1 victory over Brighton on Monday night.
“Not at the moment, not at the moment, no,” he told Sky Sports. “There’s obviously some weeks to go until he end of the window.
“We’ve got a big squad now as well so we have to manage that and look at how we move forward in terms of getting the right level of competition within the squad. “But no news on that one at the minute. I’m very happy with Kepa.
“I thought Kepa today, I think with the shot I’m not sure if he could’ve done any better but I saw a lot of confidence with how he was playing. “I’m happy with him. Kepa’s here, he’s our keeper and I’m happy with him.
“If we are bringing in competition, it will be competition, that’s the nature of Chelsea. “That goes throughout the squad so we’ll see.”
