Revenge time? Real Madrid afraid as Chelsea could hijack deal for €50M Brazilian star
According to Spanish news site AS, Chelsea has entered the battle for Manchester City forward and Brazil international Gabriel Jesus.
Real Madrid, the European and Spanish champions, are also apparently interested in signing Jesus, and Chelsea are concerned that a move for the Brazilian attacker may be hijacked by the Blues.
Following the arrival of Erling Haaland, Jesus, who scored eight goals in 21 starts for Man City during their title-winning season last season, is poised to leave the Premier League champions this summer.
Chelsea are keen in signing Jesus, with new owner Todd Boehly hoping to make him one of his first acquisitions.
Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, both from the Premier League, are said to be interested in signing Jesus this summer.
However, Chelsea have the edge over Real Madrid in the race for Jesus, given that they have a strict quota of just three non-EU players at the club – with those spots being filled by Eder Militao, Rodrygo and Vinicius Jr.
