Roman Abramovich set to ‘appoint’ former Chelsea striker as Lampard replacement
According to laest reports, Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is considering appointing a former Chelsea player as Chelsea manager if Frank Lampard gets sacked.
However, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is under huge pressure following the 3-1 defeat to Manchester City on Sunday, Chelsea’s fourth defeat in our last six Premier League games.
According to French outlet Le10 Sport, former Chelsea striker Andriy Shevchenko has now been added to the list under consideration by Abramovich.
Shevchenko is currently the manager of Ukraine and has made impressive progress with the national team. His side finished top of their Euro 2020 qualification group, beating Portugal in the progress.
Ukraine finished undefeated in Group B, winning six of their eight matches.
Abramovich is reportedly said to be a big admirer of Shevchenko and has remained in contact with him ever since he left Chelsea.
