Romano gives transfer update on Alonso replacement after defender falls out with Tuchel in Wolves draw

Chelsea is sending out signals that Marcos Alonso’s time at the club is up.

However, The 31-year contract old’s with Chelsea has one year left on it, but the club may not renew it, and he could leave for Barcelona this summer.

Marcos Alonso was substituted at halftime against Wolves by Thomas Tuchel, according to sources. The duo had a furious altercation at halftime, which led to his substitution.

Tuchel had said: “Marcos was not injured, it was just a decision we made.”

Meanwhile, reliable reporter Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Alonso will leave Chelsea at the end of the season.

He revealed via a post: “I see Alonso leaving this summer.”

Also, the transfer expert revealed that Chelsea loanee Emerson Palmieri would return to Chelsea at the end of the season.

Lyon refused to release Emerson to Chelsea in January, and reports have it that the French giants are no longer interested in taking up the offer of a permanent deal.

Romano tweeted an update on the situation, saying: “Emerson Palmieri will leave OL at the end of current season and will return to Chelsea – he’s definitely not gonna stay at OL next year.

“Many clubs are interested in signing him, including Juventus – but there’s still nothing advanced due to Chelsea situation.”

With Emerson back at the club, Chelsea may not need to sign a replacement for Alonso, as Ben Chilwell is already getting set to return from a long-term injury.
