Sarri ready to seal £90 million Chelsea Icardi deal after Giroud sparks exit talks

Reports have claimed Chelsea could make a move for Mauro Icardi after Olivier Giroud admitted he could leave the club.

Giroud will now have to play second fiddle to Gonzalo Higuain after Maurizio sarri finally completed a deal for the Argentine striker, who only managed six goals during his time with Italian giants AC Milan.

And the Frenchman has even admitted that he is in the dark on his future with the club, especially with reports suggesting that Sarri will land a more long-term striker in the summer transfer window.

He was quoted on the Daily Express website: “The coach makes Hazard play nine which is detrimental to strikers,” Giroud told Canal, before Higuain officially joined the club.

“But he [Hazard] is the best player I’ve ever played with.

“If the club decides to get another striker, like Higuain, it will certainly darken my future at Chelsea.”

Now reports on Italian website Tuutomercato has claimed Chelsea will now look to try and secure a deal for Inter Milan star Icardi, who has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge for the past 12 months.

It is no secret that the Argentine is struggling to agree terms on a new contract at Milan, with many believing that Milan are willing to seel if the £90 million valuation is met at the end of the season.

But Sarri will wait and see just how Higuain gets on before making anymore transfer decisions, as he firmly believes the on-loan Juventus star will score goals ona regular basis.

Would Icardi be a bgood signing for Chelsea?

The Argentine is coming into the prime of his life and scoring goals for fun, so if Chelsea did manage to secure a transfer deal, then it would certainly boost thei chances of winning the Premier League title once again.
