According to reports, Arsenal striker Aubameyang is yet to agree a new deal and the speculations still continues. In January, the Gunners skipper came across a shock exit as he looked for a way out.

According to reports in Daily Mail, Aubameyang tried to switch camps and move to Chelsea.

The reports suggest that contact was made on behalf of the 31-year-old and there were rumours about the West London club’s interest too. But the deal could not be materialized due to the extremely high wage demands of the Gabonese.

The requested salary would have made him Blues highest earner of all-time, but such demands were not possible to be met under the current situation and the deal broke down.

Chelsea are still in the market for another striker but they are not willing to pay what the Gabon international wants.

He has to lower his demands in order to move to Chelsea. On the performance point of view, the striker once again hit the 20 goals mark in the Premier League (22 same as last season) and Arsenal are desperate to keep hold of their talismanic skipper.
