Mario Pasalic is heading to Atalanta on a permanent transfer for around £14.5million, as Chelsea have decided to finally let him go.
The 25-year-old joined Atalanta on an initial season-long loan in 2018 and helped Gian Piero Gasperini’s side to qualify for this season’s Champions League before agreeing to move to Lombardy for a second season last summer having signed a new contract at Chelsea until 2022.
But having been settled with the Italians for the last few seasons, he has been keen to make sure that he does not move back to Chelsea this summer and was keen to try and get the Blues to make the move for permanent.
And now Club director Giovanni Sartori has opened up and admitted that he will be signed from Chelsea in the summer, he said on Sky Italia: “We’re going to buy Mario Pasalic on a permanent deal from Chelsea. “We want to use the buy option.”
Chelsea have already agreed a €40m (£33.6m) deal, potentially rising to €44m, with Ajax for the Morocco midfielder Hakim Ziyech, as the star will complete his transfer on 1 July, and if now that the Italians have agreed to pay, Pasalic can now settle
He needed this permanent move as he seems to be reaching his potential over in Seria A.
So Chelsea fans will wish him the best of luck and will say thank you for the limited service he put in a Chelsea shirt, this is a move that will suit the lad.
